Bhuj is the heart of Kutch - the city where craft families have gathered, traded, and passed down technique for generations. The Bhuj earns its name. A deep black base is covered in a grid of hand-set mirror discs in multicolour frames - turquoise, red, yellow, green - each one placed by hand, each one reflecting something different depending on the light. At the centre, a starburst medallion radiates outward in dense seed bead work, ringed by hot pink and multicolour hand-cut tassel fringe that moves with every step. The side panels carry a separate black and cream geometric weave. This bag does not blend in. It was never meant to.
